THE POSITION

As an FPGA Designer, you will work on cutting-edge IoT and ASIC-related projects, contributing to the design, validation, and bring-up of FPGA-based systems. You will be involved end-to-end, from RTL design and testbench creation to validation and debugging on real hardware.

You’ll collaborate closely with hardware and firmware teams, working with Xilinx FPGAs (Zynq preferred), embedded processors, and low-level firmware to ensure robust, high-quality FPGA solutions that integrate seamlessly into complex embedded systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, implement, and validate FPGA logic using Verilog (SystemVerilog is a plus).

  • Develop RTL code and write testbenches for functional simulation and verification.

  • Perform FPGA testing, validation, and debugging using Vivado tools and on-board debugging solutions.

  • Support FPGA bring-up through C-based firmware development.

  • Work with Xilinx Vivado, including synthesis, implementation, and timing closure.

  • Perform static timing analysis and resolve timing issues.

  • Debug designs using ILA, CRO, and other lab tools.

  • Develop validation test plans for pre- and post-silicon phases.

  • Integrate FPGA designs with embedded systems and peripherals.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced startup environment.

  • Document designs, validation processes, and test results.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong experience in FPGA design and validation.

  • Proficiency in Verilog and writing testbenches.

  • Hands-on experience with Xilinx Vivado, Xilinx FPGAs, and evaluation boards.

  • Experience with Xilinx Zynq or ARM-based SoCs.

  • Knowledge of timing closure and FPGA internal resources.

  • Experience debugging RTL on hardware (ILA, CRO).

  • Understanding of basic communication protocols: SPI, I2C, UART.

  • C programming for firmware and FPGA bring-up.

  • Scripting experience with TCL for Vivado automation.

  • Knowledge of Python.

  • An advanced level of English is required.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Strategic, pragmatic, analytical, and technical thinking.

  • Highly organised, ability to prioritise tasks and detail-oriented.

  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change.

  • Exceptional judgment, tact, and decision-making ability.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
