THE POSITION

We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join our Operations team, supporting a major client in the Milan hinterland (Cologno Monzese). The professional will be responsible for managing and maintaining network infrastructure and services in a multivendor environment (primarily Cisco and Fortinet).


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate and support network infrastructure and services

  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues

  • Perform configuration changes and manage user profiles

  • Monitor network performance and traffic data

  • Analyse service quality and propose improvements

  • Plan and carry out scheduled maintenance activities, such as:

  • Firmware and hardware upgrades

  • Network migrations

  • Integration of new devices


TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3–4 years of experience in large enterprise or service provider environments

  • Experience in operation and maintenance of IP/Data Centre networks

  • Knowledge of network monitoring, management, and orchestration tools

  • Scripting abilities (Perl, Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation

  • Basic understanding of virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM)

  • Proven experience in operations and maintenance of client infrastructures

  • Strong ability to configure and manage multivendor network devices

  • Excellent knowledge of dynamic routing protocols: OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS

  • Expertise in LAN/WAN and Datacenter environments: VLAN, STP, VXLAN, VPC

  • Familiarity with enterprise Wi-Fi networks (Aruba)

  • Experience with security products (Fortinet / Cisco, including Cisco ISE)

  • Proficient in using network monitoring and management systems
