THE POSITION
We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong specialisation in IBM DB2 to join our team. The ideal candidate is a proactive professional with hands-on experience managing complex database environments and exposure to Oracle and SQL Server platforms. This role requires a solid technical foundation, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in an international context.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administer, maintain, and optimise DB2 databases across development, testing, and production environments.
Perform database installations, configurations, upgrades, migrations, and patches.
Monitor database performance and implement tuning solutions to ensure optimal efficiency.
Design and execute backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and availability.
Troubleshoot database issues, analyse root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Support and collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, infrastructure, support).
Provide basic to intermediate support for Oracle and SQL Server environments.
Maintain documentation, standards, and best practices for database management.
Participate in on-call rotations when required.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
Strong expertise and hands-on experience with IBM DB2 (LUW preferred).
Working knowledge of Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server.
Solid understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and security principles.
Experience with backup/recovery tools and high-availability solutions.
Ability to troubleshoot complex database and performance issues.
Familiarity with IT service management tools or ticketing systems.
Proficiency in Spanish (must).
Working proficiency in English is a must.
Working proficiency in Italian is a plus.
