THE POSITION
We seek a highly skilled Frontend Engineer & Designer to work on an international press & media project. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in developing and designing web applications and dynamic websites.
You will be crucial in developing and improving innovative applications that provide excellent user experiences and meet business objectives.
This is a full-time and short-term project that will last until December 2024.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creating interactive web apps and dynamic websites to be displayed in a desktop or mobile web browser.
Creating pixel-perfect, clean, well-organized, consistent, reusable, scalable and fully documented front-end code from design files.
Implementing responsive design.
Optimizing front-end code for cross-browser, cross-platform and low bandwidth compatibility.
Creating, QA’ing and improving UI/UX.
Conducting user experience and acceptance testing.
Unit testing code.
Attending necessary team and company meetings.
Learning new skills and technologies as warranted.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
5-7 years of relevant web development experience.
Familiar with Agile development methodologies and best practices.
Exceptional knowledge of semantic HTML, CSS and SCSS, know when to use grids vs. flex-box vs. floats and have a deep appreciation for CSS variables.
Deep understanding of CSS’ media queries.
Ample experience with responsive/adaptive design.
Deep understanding of and experience with front-end frameworks and tools such as Bootstrap, Tailwind (a plus), npm and browser-based protocols and capabilities.
Expert level proficiency in writing modular JavaScript in ES6+ utilizing common JavaScript design patterns and using modern frameworks such as Angular and React.
Experience building themes and templates, using pseudo-elements and writing SCSS functions and mixins.
Ability to work in a team environment efficiently with minimal supervision.
Proven experience in writing scalable, an efficient and clean code and supporting reusable and maintainable UI components and API’s.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills.
Bachelor's degree or higher in a related discipline a plus.
Experience in product design particularly content licensing a plus.
